In a recent article entitled "UK Police Unable To Identify Man Who Fell From Sky", Gregory Katz, a reporter for Associated Press, informs his readers of a deceased man who has been a running mystery for Britain investigators the last few months.

On September 9, 2012, a bright sunny day in West London, a horrible occurance took place. Local people found a dead body in the middle of the street with no known cause of death. When the detectives arrived, their first thought was that "the man was a murder victim." However, within a day, the detective's first thoughts proved wrong. Their conclusion ultimately was that he had fallen from an overhead plane. The Heathrow airport is not far away from the neighborhood the body was found in and it seems to be only logical explanation to the mystery man.

According to local police, it is believed that the man was of African descent. In recent years, there has been many cases of "stowaways trying to get to Western Europe by hiding in the undercarriages of passenger planes." Some airports have minimal security, allowing people to hide away in planes easier. Although the attempts are not always successful, some are able to get into the undercarriages, though sometimes the result is fatal, especially for this man's case.

Stowaways that try to hide in undercarriages of planes usually do not live to see the end of their destination. Aviation safety specialist, Chris Yates, says that "the wheel base or cargo hold...are not necessarily pressurized." As the plane goes higher into the air, oxygen levels drop, as well as the temperature. Survival rates drop along with them, which means that the mystery man probably lost consciousness in the first hour of the flight.

This news article caught my eye because of the fact that this man has not been identified yet, several months after the discovery of his body. Although investigators are working hard, it is difficult to determine his identity due to the little information that was found on his person. It is devastating to think that this man's family has no clue their family member has disappeared. I hope for their sake that police can identify who he is and notify his family, in order for them to have peace in their mind.

The body of the man is still being investigated and police are looking for clues to try and find the identity. Apparently, the man has two tattoos on his arm, which investigators are looking closely at. The body is being held for repatriation in case the identity is figured out in the near future. As for the public, they believe they have seen a death quite similar in the distinct past and seem to agree that the man fell from a plane, while hiding in the undercarriage.
